A visit to Rheim Cathedral was an unexpected addition to our itinerary as we made good time getting out of Paris, and it is only minutes from the first port of call for our champagne taste test, G.H. Mumm.
Another Notre Dame, that is, "Our Lady" in French, while large the Cathedral at Rheim is still not the largest cathedral in France. This honour belongs to Notre Dame Strasbourg.
That said, the cathedral was still beautiful, with gorgeous leadlight and gargoyles.
The most famous motif from this cathedral though is the smiling angel....she has a smile like La Giaconda. It is infectious.
