Picturesque village

The village of Giverny, with a population of 500, survives on the industry that has developed from Monet's house and garden. little tearooms and restaurants, tiny gift shops and an artists studio tucked in here and there. It is a small, but beautiful French village. Originally with a population of about 2000 people it even boasts a church. It is here that Monet, Alice and other family members are buried. Just up the lane from his beloved house and garden.
