Private tasting at Moët et Chandon

Both the Moët and the G.H.Mumm facility state they have around 25kms of underground tunnels used to store the champagne as it progresses through from initial bottling, numerous fermentation and turning stages prior to dressing.  Moët has achieved its status by continuing to buy properties in the area, then selling the house or building yet retaining ownership of the underground tunnels or "caves".  Pretty clever.
The private tasting was held in a room called the Adelaide Suite, named after the founders grand daughter.  The mirrors in the room actually reminded me of those in the Mormon Temple I toured through at Kangaroo Point when it opened some years ago...the infinity effect was awesome, and that was before I sampled the Grand Vintage. 20.10.2012
